What are some of the best apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic movies?

I am looking to watch some movies in those categories. I love post apocalyptic movies like the road, water world, the postman, i am legend, children of men(not really post-apocalyptic but kind of), 28 days later, 28 weeks later, the happening, war of the worlds, 12 monkeys, and all of those kinds of movies, i know there are a lot more i have watched but i can't remember off the top or my head. Does anyone have a good list of movies in that category I could watch? Not to be a pain but I like more mainstream types of movies, I'm willing to go outside my box a little and watch something I've never heard of with actors I've never heard of but I'd prefer a little bit of name recognition if at all possible.
